Slice View Formatting

 

The Format tab in the Options dialog box, which is accessible from the Home tab in the ribbon, allows you to make changes to the display of a Slice—including which fonts are to be used, and how numbers are to be formatted—according to your preference. (The General, Format and Licensing tabs of the Options dialog box are discussed in detail in the Quick Start Manual in the Setting General Preferences topic.)

As a default setting, PowerOLAP fonts are displayed in the format shown in the figure above. Formatting can be changed for Detail Data, Read-Only Data, Detail Label and Aggregate Label.

Formatting Labels

1.   Open a Slice.

2.   Go to PowerOLAP ribbon and select Home tab, Options command.

3.   In the Options dialog box, select the Format tab.

4.   Select Font from one of the four options.

5.   Select a format (including Font, Font Style, Size, Color, etc.) from the Font descriptor dialog box.

6.   Click OK to close out the Font descriptor dialog box.

7.   Click OK to close the Options dialog and this will update the current Slice.

 

Formatting Numbers

– Change Number Formatting as follows:

1.   Open a Slice.

2.   Go to PowerOLAP ribbon and select Home tab, Options command.

3.   In the Options dialog box, select the Format tab.

4.   Select the desired number value format from the number list box at the bottom of the dialog box.

5.   Click OK to close out the Font descriptor dialog box.

6.   Click OK to close the Options dialog and this will update the current Slice.
