A simple and very useful constraint—zero suppression of rows and/or columns—can be activated with one click of the mouse.
To suppress zeros, check the Hide “Empty Rows” and/or Hide “Empty Columns” checkbox in the Constraints dialog box, as demonstrated below:
1. Open the Canada Year Sales slice from the Future Year Model cube.
2. Go to PowerOLAP ribbon, Slice tab and select Constrain Slice command from the Options control group.
The Edit Constraints dialog box appears:
3. Click the Empty Rows check box at the top left of the dialog box.
4. Click OK.
[Press F9 to recalculate if Manual Calculation is your calculation mode.]
The example Slice appears as below, with members October, November and December eliminated from the grid.
